ANCE

Stories of bricks, concrete and ingenuity

When (manu)facts speak

Even built structures have compelling stories to tell. These manufacts are the works created by construction companies associated with ANCE, and they take centre stage in a short film produced to celebrate fifty years of construction history, from Piacenza to Rimini.

The works speak in the first person, telling their own stories and portraying their world through brief monologues that accompany the images, giving personality to projects with very different histories and characteristics.

From the Caorso nuclear power plant to Rimini’s Parco del Mare; from Bologna’s Pilastro district to the essential flood-control basin of the Parma stream; from the refined design of ARPAE’s headquarters in Ferrara to the restoration of a green space in Piazza Guido da Montefeltro in Forlì; from San Cataldo Cemetery in Modena to the Mediopadana High-Speed Railway Station in Reggio Emilia.

A collective narrative that gives voice to stone, concrete, glass and human ingenuity. Because behind every structure there is always a story to build, to tell and to remember. For those who wish to watch the full documentary (just over 11 minutes), here is link.
